Why Locals Love Black Angus Steakhouse
Located in the heart of Fountain Valley, California, Black Angus Steakhouse is a top-tier destination for steak lovers seeking a classic American steakhouse experience with a contemporary twist. Renowned for its dedication to quality, Black Angus Steakhouse offers a culinary journey that centers on Certified Angus Beef®, cooked to perfection and bursting with authentic, mouthwatering flavors.
The menu presents an irresistible lineup of steakhouse favorites and hearty comfort dishes. Start your meal with the indulgent Loaded Potato Skins, generously piled with fresh grated Jack and Cheddar cheeses, crumbled bacon, sour cream, and green onions — each bite rich and satisfying. For those who prefer a touch of spice, the Crispy Cauliflower tossed in sweet & spicy dynamite sauce delivers an unexpected yet delightful kick. The classic Shrimp Cocktail arrives chilled and fresh, paired with housemade cocktail sauce for a refreshing start.
Burgers and sandwiches at Black Angus Steakhouse are a true highlight. The Steakhouse Bacon Cheeseburger is a half-pound of hand-formed Certified Angus Beef® ground chuck, stacked high with Applewood-smoked bacon, sharp cheddar cheese, and crunchy onion rings — a symphony of smoky and savory flavors. Equally tempting is the Chicken, Avocado & Bacon Sandwich, featuring a juicy grilled chicken breast crowned with Monterey Jack cheese, creamy guacamole, fresh tomato, Applewood-smoked bacon, and a luscious chipotle mayo that adds a subtle smokiness and heat.
For those who want to pair steak with the ocean’s bounty, the Steak & Sea Partners selections like Ribeye & Sea Partners, Prime Rib & Sea Partners, and Filet & Sea Partners elevate the dining experience by combining robust, tender cuts of beef with fresh seafood accompaniments, creating a flavorful harmony that satisfies every craving.
What truly sets this Black Angus location apart is the impeccable service and warm hospitality. Guests consistently praise the attentive, intuitive staff—Amy’s vibrant personality and quick service, Landon’s welcoming presence, and Liz’s thoughtful touches like refilled iced teas and extra ranch sauce are frequently mentioned highlights. This level of care and attentiveness turns a meal into a memorable occasion.
Patrons appreciate that here, flavor reigns supreme without overwhelming saltiness or heavy-handed seasoning, a sentiment well-expressed by customer Adam Urquhart who notes that Black Angus offers a refreshing alternative to other steakhouses. The commitment to perfectly cooked steaks shines through, and the team’s willingness to promptly correct any missteps—like overcooked steaks—demonstrates a genuine dedication to customer satisfaction.
The ambiance strikes a balance between straightforward comfort and efficient charm, making it ideal for everything from casual lunches to laid-back dinners. Though some guests feel the space could benefit from a facelift and enhanced lighting to match the quality of its food and service, the restaurant’s steady warmth and reliable flavors keep diners coming back.
From perfectly crunchy, golden-battered onion rings to burgers considered among the best in Orange County, Black Angus Steakhouse is a dependable haven for those craving hearty, expertly executed steakhouse classics. Delicious and not overly salty food. Definitely one of the best Steakhouse chains I've been too. Pity we don't have these back home in the northeast. It's nice biting into a steak to enjoy the flavor and not have it taste like a salt shaker. Looking at you Longhorns and Texas Roadhouse. Oh and the homemade ranch was beyond amazing.

First Visit—Landon was warm, welcoming, friendly, helpful, great host—very hospitable. Liz anticipated my every need and brought Ranch with onion rings and refilled iced tea without me asking! Good Lunch Menu served till 4pm! Rodeo Ripper Burger is huge and delicious as were the onion rings. Iced tea fresh brewed! Vibe is a bit bland, but it’ll do—a face lift will help and better lighting. Plenty of parking. I’ll likely be back again.

The burgers have to be in the top 5 in OC. Huge onion rings made with perfect breading. Crunchy to the core. The burger has a great taste. The cooks do a great job keeping it medium rare. . The Angus Meat lays a foundation of flavor through every bite. I always order delivery. I can see an improvement from a year ago. Better packaging and better quality. Worth every penny.

Amy was the best server we have had in a long time! Great personality, fast, anticipated every possible need before we even asked for anything. There is a different Black Angus closer to us but I will be back to this one because of her!

They won me over with their service. My medium rare steak was overcooked and they replaced it no problem. Didn’t hesitate just brought out a new plate, steak cooked just right with fresh potatoes. I love those guys!

This was my first visit here, and overall, it was a very enjoyable experience! Our group of 13 arrived around 8:45 pm and stayed until about 10:20 pm. Since we were a large party, we had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated, so I’d definitely recommend making a reservation if you’re coming with a big group. The service was a little slow at times, but the staff was attentive and made sure we were taken care of. The menu has some great options, and I personally recommend trying the dinner combo for two—it’s a fun way to build your own course and try different flavors. The vegetables were fresh and delicious, though vegetarian options are a bit limited, which is understandable for a steakhouse. Overall, we had a wonderful time together, enjoyed the food.

This place was ok. I didn’t really know what to expect bc I got takeout and a bogo deal. I ordered the steak and shrimp duo. Got the sirloin 6 oz., shrimps, french fries, and fresh broccoli with garlic butter. The portions for takeout suck. I ordered a medium rare steak and it was very flavorful and yummy - easy to cut. The shrimps were ok. They just tasted like any other fried shrimp. I got two big pieces of broccoli and they were alright… they were soft so it wasn’t too difficult to eat. I was hoping for more though The fries were ok. They got bland after eating a couple of them.

One of my favorite steak houses! We order steak with lobster which is so great. The size is so big. Even my boy can finish a 16OZ steak. The toast potato with Cheese and bacon is so good too. Highly recommend.
